In 1996, Regal Films launched the acting career of Hector Gomez via the film “Nights of Serafina”. He played Gino in this movie directed by Joey Gosiengfiao and written by Ricky Lee, Jonas Sebastian, and Frank Rivera. The public warmly welcomed Gomez, whose resemblance to popular actor Richard Gomez was also noticed by many of his fans.

Hector Gomez was born in St. Francis Hospital in Manila to Hector L. Gomez III, an actor and model, and Aurora C. Serame, a police officer. In college, the younger Hector Gomez took up Management at the Philippine Christian University. He was not able to graduate as he chose to pursue modeling, finishing as one of the 15 finalists in the modeling pageant that launched his showbiz career. He was discovered and was offered to star in films like “Ikaw Pa Rin Ang Iibigin”, “Banatan”, and “Most Wanted”. He was active in the entertainment industry from 1996 to 2006.

Gomez loved to play basketball, and in his free time played video games and repaired various things around the house. He was married to Maria Victoria Ongpauco, a graduate of St. Paul Manila who became an entrepreneur running a small canteen in their area of residence. They have four sons and a daughter.

One of Hector’s sons, Thor Gomez, followed his footsteps in show business and is a contract star of Viva Artists Agency. Thor, along with the family, was by their father’s bedside when he breathed his last on the 7th of December 2022.

Gomez succumbed to lung cancer at the age of 48. He was laid to rest on December 11 at the Manila North Cemetery.
